About us
Find flaws early on, increase safety, save resources.
edevis is a leading provider of testing and measurement systems for non-destructive material testing using active thermography. For over 20 years, we have been developing innovative solutions that enable companies to make quality visible — precisely, efficiently and sustainably.

Our drive.
We make the invisible visible — with technology, precision and passion.
What drives us is a fascination for detail and the desire to make materials and components safer without destroying them. Our systems help to make quality measurable — reliably, without contact and at the highest technical level. We believe that progress comes from accuracy — and we work on that every day.

Porsche request
The Porsche Motorsport Center is looking for an innovative process at the Institute of Plastics Technology at the University of Stuttgart to non-destructively test Carrera GT CFRP monocoques. This task became the starting point for the subsequent founding of the company.
Founding of edevis GmbH
Spin-off from the University of Stuttgart by Thomas Zweschper and Alexander Dillenz; based in Leinfelden-Echterdingen. Focus: active thermography for non-destructive material and component testing.
Expansion of initial references
Continuation of Porsche cooperation and entry into aerospace: projects with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Eurocopter (now Airbus Helicopters).
First fully automated series system
For the BMW light metal foundry in Landshut, edevis is developing the world's first fully automated testing system for series control of composite crankcases (ultrasound + pulse-triggered thermography).
Strategic cooperation with thyssenkrupp Automotive
Joint development of a system for the fully automated inspection of laser welds on traction battery cell connectors — key technology for electric mobility.
20th anniversary
>500 completed projects, >20 employees;
strong industry presence in automotive & aerospace;
active involvement in DGZfP and DIN standardization committees.
Interview with Alexander Dillenz
Alexander Dillenz, co-founder of Edevis, talks about the founding and company structure and philosophy.
FAQ
Our frequently asked questions — answered quickly and easily.
How does edevis support its customers after purchase?
We offer extensive remote and on-site support, individual training and feasibility analyses. Our experts accompany you during commissioning and system integration – practical and solution-oriented.
find out moreIn which industries are edevis systems used?
Our systems are used in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, electronics manufacturing, additive manufacturing and research. They are used wherever safety, precision and repeatability are required.
find out moreWhat distinguishes active thermography from other inspection methods?
Active thermography makes internal material defects visible through targeted thermal stimulation – without damaging the component. It is fast, contactless and ideally suited for complex structures and surfaces.
find out moreWhat role does sustainability play at edevis?
Non-destructive testing reduces scrap, avoids material waste and extends the service life of products. Our solutions thus make an active contribution to sustainable production.
find out moreWhy was edevis originally founded?
edevis emerged as a spin-off from the University of Stuttgart with the aim of bringing thermography from research into industrial application – precise, contactless and resource-efficient. This ambition drives us to this day.
