FAQ
Our frequently asked questions — answered quickly and easily.
Is the EDECAM suitable for continuous operation in industrial applications?
Yes. The EDECAM is robustly designed and intended for long-term use in harsh industrial environments. By dispensing with wear parts such as mechanical shutters (shutterless technology) it is particularly durable and low-maintenance.
find out moreWhat is the EDECAM and why was it developed?
The EDECAM is an infrared camera for active thermography developed by edevis itself. It was created out of the need for powerful, industrial-grade and at the same time affordable cameras – because standard solutions often do not meet the requirements of non-destructive testing.
find out moreWhat is the detection accuracy of the EDECAM?
Thanks to optimised macro optics, the EDECAM offers a spatial resolution of up to 30 µm at an object distance of only 10 cm – ideal for detecting the finest cracks or delaminations. The outstanding thermal sensitivity (NETD) of 30 mK also enables excellent defect detection.
find out moreWhat technical advantages does the EDECAM offer compared to conventional IR cameras?
The EDECAM achieves a high frame rate of 120 fps at full VGA resolution (640 × 480 px) – compared to typical 30 fps for standard cameras. This enables more precise inspections, especially for moving objects or time-critical inspections.
find out moreWhich interfaces and standards does the EDECAM support?
The camera is equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet interface (GigE Vision) and is fully GenICam compatible. It supports trigger and sync-out functions, allowing it to be easily integrated into complex test or multi-camera systems – including real-time data processing and synchronization.
